How To Enable Short URLs In Your WordPress Blog

Most blog posts have really long PermLink URLs (the permanent link to the blog post / page) and it becomes really cumbersome for visitors to share the posts easily. Until now, you were probably using some sort of URL shortner service like bit.ly or tinyurl.com. Although these services come with added analytics on the short URL clicks and also give you more control over the actual short URLs text, I think what most of us really want is just shorter urls for our very long blog posts links.
