How to Customize Tumblr Blog Theme for Mobile Devices
Tumblr blogs now come with an optimized iPhone layout. Tumblr developers are not one to disappoint, so if you browse your tumblog from the iPhone, you should see a killer layout! And according to tumblr’s Jacob, they are working on optimizing the mobile theme for other mobile devices now that they have the iPhone theme out of the way.
What if you already like the way your tumblog looks on mobile devices?
Sure! Just logon to your Tumblr blog Dashboard.
Then click Customize → Advanced
and uncheck the option
Use optimized layout on mobile devices.
What if you are a theme developer who wants to customize and optimize the iPhone layout yourself ?
That’s also possible. Tumblr developers have added a hook so you can override the default iPhone layout by adding a new page, with
Page Type = Custom Layout
Page URL = /iphone-theme

Great article. I would like to add Disqus into the mobile theme. Is this possible? And if it is, how do you copy the existing mobile theme html to start the new one?
